Overview
Pair Density Modulation in Iron Superconductors
Biography
Dr. Michał Papaj obtained his PhD in 2021 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He then worked as a Moore Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2024, he joined the University of Houston as an Assistant Professor. As a condensed matter theorist, he is particularly interested in studying the properties of quantum materials, both from the fundamental perspective as well as for their prospective applications in the next-generation quantum technologies. Much of his research is focused on superconductivity, in which field he works on understanding the nature of unconventional superconductors such as iron-based compounds or heterostructures that may host Majorana zero modes. He also studies two-dimensional systems such as graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides, where he is interested in the interplay between strong correlations and topology.
