Overview
Development of an Ultra-low Temperature High Magnetic Field Rotational STM for Research of Quantum Materials
Biography
Prof. Shuheng H. Pan received his Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin in 1991 under the guidance of Prof. Alex de Lozanne. After conducting postdoctoral research at the University of Basel, Switzerland, he helped to establish the Microstructure Research Center, a National Research Laboratory, at the University of Hamburg, Germany.
In 1995, he joined the Ultra Low Temperature Physics Group as a Research Associate at the University of California at Berkeley. In 1999, he became a faculty member of the Physics Department at Boston University. In 2001, he returned to Texas and became a faculty member of the Physics Department and a Principal Investigator at the Texas Center for Superconductivity at the University of Houston (TcSUH), where he conducts research on strongly correlated materials and novel superconductors. He is Project Leader of the TcSUH Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Spectroscopy Laboratory.
