The Physics of Information: From Fundamentals to Cutting Edge Applications
Biography
Dr. Akram Touil is currently a Director funded postdoc at LANL. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland Baltimore County where he worked on quantum thermodynamics and quantum foundations. His current work is at the intersection of quantum thermodynamics, and quantum information theory. Some of the problems he is working on: Quantifying quantum-to-classical transitions in the Quantum Darwinism framework, mechanisms that lead to wave function branching in the universe, quantum probabilities and the Born rule, thermalization in quantum mechanics, and machine learning for open systems.
