Biography: Dr. Pei-Herng Hor is an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Houston and Task Leader of TcSUH's Novel Materials Research Laboratory. He received a B.S. in Physics from Tamkang University in Taiwan in 1977 and a Ph.D. in Physics from UH in 1990 under advisor Paul C. W. Chu. Hor was an Assistant Professor in Physics at UH between 1991 and 1993 when he became an Associate Professor.

His research areas include high-temperature superconductivity, transport properties of low dimensional conductors, metal-insulator transitions in transition metal oxides and layered systems, and the search for and synthesis of new novel materials. Hor is a member of the American Physical Society, the Materials Research Society, Omnicron Delta Kappa, and the National Leadership Honor Society. He is an editor of Modern Physics Letters B and Rapid Communications in High-Temperature Superconductivity.
